About the School

Lord Wandsworth College is a highly successful, well-respected boarding and day school for boys and girls aged from 11 to 18, offering a broad, well-balanced curriculum and an incredible range of sports, activities and co-curricular opportunities.

The campus is set in 1,200 acres of countryside and LWC provides a safe, secure, inspiring and caring learning environment.

LWC aims to establish a foundation upon which all pupils feel able to build a full and happy life, irrespective of what storms they may face.  The School is determined that they will leave school with a better understanding of who they are; their strengths, values and aspirations.  To achieve this, pupils are equiped  with emotional intelligence and literacy, a growth mind-set and a schooling in the characteristics that allow a person to be a good, decent member of society.  These three elements are grouped together into LWC’s character education programme.

Every aspect of the curriculum, co-curriculum and pastoral provision endeavours to imbue pupils with the following “moral” character attributes: Fairness, Generosity, Empathy, Gratitude, Loyalty and Courage.  Learning and achievement will be rewarded emphasising Perseverance, Self-control, Engagement, Optimism, Curiosity and Creativity.  These “performance” attributes are taught, monitored and developed throughout all school life.  By promoting character education, we give all our pupils the best chance of realising their full potential.

Staff and Student Quotes

“Nestled within our stunning 1200 acre campus of soft rolling hills and wooded valleys is a school where pupils are thriving. It is a school with an inspirational charitable foundation, a passion for the individual and one which nurtures character and inner self-confidence in a world full of complexity. At LWC, pupils have a voice, alongside a desire to be curious, creative and gain an ever-developing sense of emotional intelligence. We also have a great deal of fun.”

Mr Adam Williams

“Studying and living at Lord Wandsworth College is wonderful because as an international student whose first language is not English, doing things together with all the students and staff has helped me break through the fear of making mistakes to communicate with others. I really feel part of LWC as everyone at the College is incredibly friendly.”
