About the School

Established in 1868, Trent College is an independent boarding school located in the heart of England, providing a first-class secondary school and Sixth Form education. Situated on the border of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, Trent College benefits from easy access to international airports including Heathrow, Birmingham and Manchester. With the rolling hills of the Peak District just a short drive away and the vibrant city of Nottingham close by, students benefit from access to the best of country and urban life.

With traditional Christian values at the core of the community, students benefit from an excellent academic education in a nurturing and welcoming environment. The beautiful 45 acre campus provides the perfect setting for talent and creativity to thrive; pupils explore, grow and excel in an environment which is as warm and caring as it is exciting and stimulating. Every day at Trent College is a chance to discover new passions and skills, preparing for a future filled with possibilities. A wealth of pastoral care offering comprehensive support for every individual, enables every child to develop the skills they need to flourish in an ever changing world.

Trent College delivers an authentic British boarding school experience where only 7% of our students are from overseas. Providing a first-class education immersed in the English language, culture and way of life, the diverse school community at Trent College brings together young people from over 20 nationalities, offering a caring and nurturing environment, with a culture of respect, kindness and tolerance at the heart of the education.

The school offers GCSEs, IGCSEs, BTEC and A-levels, alongside the increasingly popular EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) which is highly regarded by universities.

The warm and welcoming boarding community houses students from across the globe, offering a true home-from-home environment.  With separate houses for younger boarders (Years 7 – 11) and Sixth Formers, the close-knit community offers enhanced support, encouragement and full integration into every aspect of school life. The Boarders’ Activity Programme encourages students to make the most of their free time in the evenings and at weekends. Weekly social outings together with on-site activities, including themed food & film nights, provide a wealth of opportunities for students build meaningful, lifelong friendships.

“Studying at Trent has been a wonderful experience.  From the first day of school I have been surrounded by friendly classmates in a cordial environment.  The teachers are very supportive and have helped me enormously with my studies.

The boarding experience is one I will never forget, with fun activities every weekend.  My cosy room is like a second home to me.

I truly enjoy my studies and living at Trent College.
