About the School

Founded in 1895, Worksop College is a broad-ability co-educational, day and boarding school for 11 to 18 year-olds. Based in the National Trust’s Clumber Park, the School sits on 400 acres of beautiful North Nottinghamshire countryside – but is just an hour and a half away from London by train.

The School’s focus is firmly on progress, recognising that every child has his or her own set of skills and abilities – whether academic, sporting, musical or otherwise.

Welcoming students from all over the world, international pupils are part of a multi-cultural community of people who care for each other – celebrating diversity and forging solid friendships.

One of the particular strengths of the school is found in its pastoral system, allowing all international students to feel fully supported as they integrate into school life – starting with International Welcome Weekend. A two-day event featuring talks and workshops with parents and pupils, this specific induction programme enables staff, parents and pupils to get to know each other in a relaxed community atmosphere, easing fears and building bonds right from day one.

Offering outstanding opportunities and small class sizes, happy and successful students are encouraged to develop and make excellent progress. An extensive academic enrichment programme, visiting university lecturers providing aspirational advice and strong links with local and regional business allow for future-focused and relevant teaching.

Outside the classroom, the offer is just as firm, with a Life Skills and Co-curricular Programme offering everything from golf to Zumba, public speaking to business planning. With activities after lessons and on a Saturday morning, young people are supported to build resilience and independence.

The School is blessed with an enviable environment in which to learn and play, including many core facilities that have recently been refurbished or developed.

This is a remarkable school in a stunning setting with exceptional facilities and talented teaching staff – at this school, what matters is the individual.

Staff and Student Quotes

“Community, belonging and a deep-seated sense of friendship play a major role in pupils’ time at our school. With that security comes a sense of well-being and confidence that enables pupils to flourish as individuals.”
